Learn about Kevin Chase “Cowboy”

Kevin Chase is a recognized community banking executive and culture coach. During his banking career, he served as Executive Vice President, President, CEO, and Chairman of a community bank in Derby, Kansas. His leadership style ranged from passionate and inspirational, to visionary and driven. He credits the exceptional and consistent bank performance to a dynamic culture that was crafted over the years. After 34-years in the industry, Kevin semi-retired, by selling the bank to another Kansas, community bank. He remains with the acquiring bank as a Senior Advisor and serves on the Board of Directors.

In 2015, Kevin was asked to serve as the “Culture Coach” for the local high school football team. During the past nearly two-decades, Kevin helped implement a similar culture that he had at the bank. This proactive initiate, once again, proved to be a positive influence in the team living out its mission. And you’ll find him still volunteering in this capacity.

Today, this culture program has grown throughout the local community. Municipalities and area commercial businesses have adopted the teachings of the “One Degree Compass” and are enjoying the benefits of doing so. Together, with Coach Brandon Clark, Kevin presents many keynotes and workshops throughout the year.

Kevin was raised on the family ranch that was first established by his great-grandfather in 1908. Thus, the nickname, “Cowboy”. After a banking career, he is finally finding some “ranch time”. Something he put on hold for nearly 35-years. But if you track him down, he always makes time for culture discussions. It’s his passion and his vision is to be a positive influence on everyone he comes in contact with along his culture journey.

Learn about Brandon Clark “Coach”

Coach Brandon Clark has dedicated 19 years to leading, educating, and coaching at Derby High School. After taking over a 0-9 Derby Football team, he has transformed the Derby Panther Football program, winning six 6A state titles and taking his team to the state title games 9 times and state semifinals 14 out of 19 years. His leadership on and off the field has earned him a reputation as not only a great football coach but also a leader in fostering positive culture.

Coach and the Cowboy's One Degree Compass Culture program, initially designed for their football team, has expanded beyond sports. It has been adopted by businesses, corporations, school districts, recreation centers, and cities. Culture has become his life's passion. Coach Clark's mission is to serve others by inspiring the highest quality of life through the One Degree Compass Culture. He embodies the principles he teaches in his daily life.

Coach Clark and his wife Courtney, along with their three children, Braxton, Blade, and Braelyn, exemplify that culture is not just for work but also for home. Coach Clark believes that to become a true Culture Champion, one must live out these principles in every aspect of life.
