CFMA NJ 2017/2018 Scholarship

THE PROGRAM

The Construction Financial Management Association of New Jersey (CFMA NJ) is administering a scholarship program to assist immediate family members of CFMA NJ members, who plan to or are currently pursuing post-secondary education in college and vocational programs.  Scholarships will be offered for full-time study at any accredited post-secondary institution of the student’s choice.

 ELIGIBILITY

 Applicants to the Construction Financial Management Association of New Jersey Scholarship Program must meet all of the following requirements:

 

  • The child of a CFMA NJ member in good standing. The child may be natural, legally adopted, or a stepchild.

 

  • High school seniors who plan to enroll or students currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school.

 

  • Only one application per CFMA NJ member will be accepted.

 AWARDS

 Two scholarships will be considered each year in the amount of $1,500.00. Payment will be made in August and the check will be mailed to the bursar of the school where the scholarship recipient will be or is currently attending.

 APPLICATION

 Each applicant must complete the attached application and mail it along with a current complete transcript of school grades from either the post-secondary school currently attending or from high school, along with a post-secondary school acceptance letter if received, to the address listed below, postmarked no later than June 13, 2018.  Applications may be reproduced as needed.

 Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information.  Applications are evaluated on the information supplied; therefore, answer all questions as completely as possible.  All information received is considered confidential.

 SELECTION OF RECIPIENTS

 The Scholarship recipient is selected on the basis of academic record, potential to succeed, leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors and a statement of educational and career goals.  Financial need is not considered.

 Final selection of the recipient is made by the CFMA NJ Board of Directors.  The award recipient will be notified in July.  Not all applicants to the program will be selected as a recipient and the decision made by the CFMA NJ Board of Directors will be final.

 REVISIONS

 The CFMA NJ Board of Directors reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time, including termination of the program.

2015-2016 CFMA New Jersey Scholarship Recipients:

The New Jersey Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) awarded three $1500.00 college tuition scholarships to Ashley T. Schomp, Eric L. Woods and Ryan W. Patti.

Ashley T. Schomp is a graduate of Kearny High School and pursuing an undergraduate degree in Graphic Design at Saint Peters University.  Ashley is the daughter of Vania Schomp of Alpine Painting and Sandblasting Contractors.

Eric L. Woods is a graduate of Morris Catholic High School and pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mathematical Economics at Wake Forest University.  Eric is the son of Andrew Wood of J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc.

Ryan W. Patti is a graduate of Pascask Valley High School and pursuing an undergraduate degree in Journalism at Seton Hall University.  Ryan is the son of Joseph Patti of Welsbach Electric Corporation.

The CFMA is the “voice of construction financial management” in the industry and the only non-profit organization dedicated to serving the construction financial professional.

The annual scholarship program is offered to assist immediate family members of CFMA-NJ members.
